I went to Jingu Stadium to watch a baseball game, Swallows vs. Giants on July 22.
It was the first experience for me watching a live professional baseball game. Me and three men from my office arrived at the stadium at 18:40. The game had already started. All of us are fans of Giants. But our seats were on the stands near first base. These were the seats for Swallows fan as fundamental. As soon as sitting the seat, I was surprised at that mixed lights were so beautiful! And I also thought the stadium not so wide. "Hoo! There is Kiyohara! I can hit him if throwing a stone!" "Oh, there is Takahashi! He can run so fast!" ...I have to explain something to you. Kiyohara and Takahashi are famous Japanese baseball players belong to Giants. Kiyohara is first baseman and Takahashi is right fielder. I have to say again, I am a Giants fan. I was so excited that I drank and drank a lot of glasses of beer. Well, people around us were so interesting. I will write about some of them. First, a man who sat by me. He watched the game with his wife and parents. His wife and parents had few knowledge about baseball. So he explained about each action of the game to them. ...In a super loud voice. They went home at bottom of sixth inning. Why did they go to the stadium? Second, a young man sitting behind me. He was watching the game with his girl friend. His girl friend looked to be a Giants fan. But he looked to be a Tigers fan! Because he shouted "Smash, Hiyama!" to Inaba. Hiyama is a baseball player belongs to Tigers. Why did he go to the stadium to watch a game Giants vs Swallows? Third, a couple sitting in front of me. Man was Swallows fan. Woman was Giants fan. They had many quarrels about each action of the game. Well, the game went into extra innings. Giants got a big chance at bottom of tenth inning. The bases are loaded with one out. They put Ishii in as a pinch hitter. The woman in front of me shouted. "Go go, Ishii! Takako also cheers you!" I have to explain something to you again. Takako is a famous Japanese singer and is wife of Ishii. Ishii hit a grand-slam homer! And Giants won the game at last! I was so happy at the night. |
