A bad boy coming from Okayama became the world champ again. I have few knowledge of boxing. But I know that many Japanese challengers has failed to be world champ . I think all of them can never be champ. Because they don't have face as champ. And they don't have enough technic as champ either. These days, Japan Boxing Commission is worried that there is no world champ of Japanese. So, it has arranged many title matches though challengers did not have enough experience. And after all of challenges had lost, it made Joh'ichiro Tatsuyoshi the ace in the hole at last. Tatsuyoshi's title match was named "The Last Judgement". Because he is now 27 years old. They say he is too old to be a champ. Tatsuyoshi said that if he would lose this match he would retire. ...Six years ago, I had been in a hospital for two weeks. I was a university student. And I had to seek a job. One night, I heard a shout from the next room. It was the voice of the man I always smoked with. I went to his room. "What's happened?" "Just now, Tatsuyoshi has become world champ!" It was the moment that the first time he became champ. He was raising his both hands and smiling in TV. "He get a big prize in spite of he is younger than me..." I really envied him. Six years passed from that. "The Last Judgement" was held on November 22 1998. I'm not good at English to write its details. But it was the best boxing match I have watched. Tatsuyoshi won it and became world champ again. After the title match, Tatsuyoshi said. "I can't live without boxing". He looked more great than six years ago. ...And watching him, I wept. |
