Daniel Boon Davis is a technician. He lost his property and position at his company by the betrayal with the joint management person and his wife. The things left for him were only the stock of the company which he was a president of it until yesterday. He despaired and decided to go into the cold sleep for 30 years. But, he had a sedative struck by a doctor in the hospital which he visited to take the inspection for cold sleep. He takes back rest by it, and tries to take revenge on two people who betrayed themselves. But, he was dropped conversely in the trap by them. He had the medicine which was here injected. Then, there were not personal will and relations, and it was stuck to the sleep for 30 years, and it woke up in 2000 A.D. He worked even if it was intended to get accustomed to the new life. Then, it has been adapted to living as a citizen of 2000 A.D. somehow. He notices that one has the patent of the machine which is in fashion in one day. However, he doesn't have the memory of inventing that machine. What kind of thing is as for him, this which it is worried about on earth...? This novel is science fiction fundamentally. But, this novel has various elements (suspence, action, love story and so on). Whatever is said, the charm of No.1 of this work is probably human being description. A scoundrel is drawn thoroughly badly, and a good man is being drawn thoroughly and well. Then, it is connected with the refreshing last scene the complete reversal. Anyway, this is a good novel. 2000 A.D. begins, and it is only 4 months yet. I don't know whether it is unfortunate that it doesn't look like the world which it is drawn in by this novel at all. But, it is certain that this book goes into the best 3 in the book which I will read this year. |
