"War is stupid!" This is a phrase of a song of Culture Club. I thought so when I read this story. Joe was a honest young man. He went to Europe to fight with German armies. ...No. It's just my mistake. Because he never hoped it. The government sent him to battlefield. He left his mother, sisters and lover in U.S. One day, he waked up. Waked up? No! He recognized that he could hear nothing. He also knew that he could see nothing. And he understood that he had lost his ears, eyes and his jaw and tongue. He could never hear, see and talk anything! He understood that he was on the bed of a hospital. He also understood that a bullet hit him. And it made him so... His nightmare was still not over. He felt that doctors cut his both of arms and feet. And he became a man who could not move by himself! He could not eat by himself. So doctors used a tube to send foods and water to his stomach directly. He also could not breathe by himself. So doctors also used a tube to send air to his heart! I think I will want to die if I am in this situation. But he had no way to die because he could not move by himself! He had no part to move by his own mind. Some years later, he found that his head could move a little by his own mind. He knew Morse code. He tried to communicate with the other person by it... I want to tell to the heads of nation of all over the world; "Can you cause a war even after reading this story?" I think war is stupid. And I think people who cause war are more stupid!
